160-Tile American Mahjong Sets

A complete 160-tile American Mahjong set contains the standard 152 playing tiles plus 8 extras. The extra tiles are not a different version of the game; their purpose and artwork depend on the set.

Check the spare breakdown

Do not assume every 160-tile box contains eight blank tiles. Some sets combine extra Jokers and blanks. Read the individual breakdown, then keep the extras separate when your group plays with the standard 152.

Compare the rest of the package

Tile dimensions, materials, racks and storage can differ even when the total count is the same. Choose the package by its named contents, and compare the listed dimensions with any racks you already own.

152, 160 or 166 tiles? A standard American set uses 152 playing tiles. Larger complete sets may add spares; the spare breakdown varies. The current National Mah Jongg League card is a separate purchase from our tiles.

Compare Light Marble, Winslow USA 1920 and Green Palm Leaf for different artwork. Read each listing for its own dimensions and named package contents.

Will a 160-tile set fit my existing racks?

The tile count alone does not determine rack fit. Compare tile width and thickness with your racks, and confirm missing dimensions before ordering. See the 152, 160 and 166 tile comparison for the difference between playing tiles and extras.
